Mrs Byrne's Living Witness Award <new pic>

Mrs Byrne's Living Witness Award

The Catholic Diocese of Sale has honoured a local teacher, Mrs Bernadette Byrne who has been presented with a "Living Witness Award" in her Community. Bernadette was one of only four teachers to receive this inaugural award.

The "Living Witness Award" is in recognition of Bernadette's "outstanding contribution to Catholic Education in the Diocese of Sale."

The award has confirmed everything the community of St Michael's has always known about Bernadette's selfless and caring attitude to others.

Director of Catholic Education, Peter Ryan said, "Love your neighbour has been the motto that Bernadette has worked and lived by. Her neighbour has included the students, her colleagues, her fellow parishioners and those in need in the wider community. Always at the fore front of Bernadette's dealing with students, families and colleagues has been the real recognition that they are to be treated with compassion, respect and love, with the greatest of these being love."
