Masquerade Ball

On Saturday, 15 March the Parents Action Committee held a very successful event for the parents and friends of the school - a Masquerade Ball, held at Cardinia Cultural Centre in Pakenham. There were prizes for the best Lady's and the best Gentleman's mask, great music for dancing, a delightful meal and hampers for the Silent Auction attracted a great amount of attention. All agreed that it was a great fun night, as many people just let their hair down on the dance floor and elsewhere - see the photos below:

Cocktail Party

This evening (Sat, 22 June '07 - in the Parish Hall), organised by the Parents Action Committee,
was well attended by parents from the school, and gave all who attended the chance to socialise
with their friends. The evening wound up with dancing and Kareoke, and lots of laughs.

IGA Presentation

St Michael's School in Berwick received a visit from members of the IGA Community Benefits Scheme
and Berwick's local IGA Supermarket last week.

Len Fletcher and Marguarite Tame came and thanked the families, staff, students and friends of St Michael's who have
raised over $16,000 for the school since the inception of the scheme in the area approximately eight years ago.

By simply by shopping at the Berwick IGA Supermarket and having their customer tags scanned at the checkout, a
percentage of every purchase is donated to the school. The money has been forwarded to the school over the years,
at an average of $150 a month; and has contributed to updating or replacing equipment around the school.

Len and Marguarite presented a plaque and a giant cheque to Principal, Michael Hanney and
St Michael's Grade 6 representatives.

Mr McGregor's proud family were present as Vice Principal, Bernadette Byrne presented a plaque recognizing his huge contribution to raising funds for St Michael's. Mr McGregor said he was proud to receive the award and felt privileged to have been a student at St Michael's himself and continues to be a part of the community as his children now attend St Michael's.

Mr McGregor is passionate about St Michael's and the funds he has worked so hard to help raise have replaced school equipment and contributed to the upgrade of playing areas.
