Brief History of St Michael's

1861
Catholic Education commenced in Berwick.
1956
St. Michael’s Parish Established.

1962

St. Michael’s School opened 60 students in prep to grade 6.

Three classrooms in Wedge Hall.

Principal – Sr. De Sales, Presentation Sister.

1967
Senior School Building containing four classrooms completed.
1975

Junior School building containing four classrooms completed.

New school established at Cranbourne – St. Agatha’s.

1978
St. Francis Xavier College Beaconsfield established.
1982
New school established at Narre Warren – Don Bosco.
1986
First Lay Principal – Mr Bob Fitzsimons .
1987
Completion of new School wing including administration and two classrooms.
1992
New school library completed.
1996
New Parish Primary School established – St. Catherine’s, Berwick South .
2001

Six new classrooms built.

Computer laboratory established.

2002

Demolition of Wedge Hall.

Installation of additional basketball/netball court area with shade cloth structure
