ST. MICHAEL'S HALL HIRE

This facility is run by parent volunteers to utilise a valuable Parish and School resource.
The following diagram provides a summary of the Hall Hire process:

Hire begins at 5:00 pm on Friday afternoon,
and ends at 9:00 am Saturday morning.

Saturday

Hire begins at 9:00 am on Saturday morning,
and ends at 9:00 am Sunday morning.

Sunday

$200

Hire begins at 9:00 am on Sunday morning, and must be cleaned up and gone by 6:00 pm on Sunday night.

Weekdays

St Michael's Hall is heavily booked throughout the week after school hours. Occasionally there are openings for hire on certain nights.

Payment for Hire of the hall is to be made at the time of the booking (see Booking a Date, below).

BOOKING A DATE

To book a date, the following items must be forwarded to the address detailed below:

  • Hire Payment (as specified in the Rates table above), as a cheque made payable to "St Michael's School";
  • Bond (refer to Bond, below), as a separate cheque made payable to "St Michael's School";
  • Completed Schedule.

Mail the above to:

Receipts will be mailed out shortly after the above items have been received. This receipt confirms that you have secured the relevant date. Please note that the school office does not answer questions or issue receipts for the Hall Hire.

If you cancel your hall hire within 4 weeks of your secured date, a cancellation fee of $50 will be deducted from the Hire Payment, and the balance will be returned, along with the Bond cheque.

BOND

Payment of a $300 bond is required on all hall bookings. A separate cheque made out to "St Michael's School" (to be included with the Hire Payment at the time of booking), and will be returned after a full inspection of the hall. Any reported damage or unfinished/ inadequate cleaning will see the cheque used to repair/ replace/ fix/ pay a cleaner, etc.

Bond cheques are normally returned in the week following the function.

KEYS

Hall key needs to be collected from the school office on the Friday, up until 4:00 pm for Friday & Saturday bookings. For a Sunday booking, the key will need to be collected on Sunday at 9 am from the Hall Hire Volunteer (as arranged at the time of booking).

The Key is to be returned to school office on the Monday following all bookings, or as otherwise adviased by the Hall Hire volunteer.

CLEANING

The school cleaner can clean up after the function for $100. Decorations must be removed, chairs and tables cleaned and put away, and rubbish removed from the premises. The cleaner will then clean, mop and vacuum the entire hall, including toilets, kitchen, stage and main hall. Please let the Hall Hire Volunteers know if you wish to use this service, and pay for this at the time of booking. Otherwise, it is the hirer's duty to ensure this is all done appropriately by the end of their hall hire time. Some cleaning equipment is provided (mop, broom, vacuum cleaner), but it is generally the hirer's responsibility to provide cleaning products, wipes, paper towel, etc.

GENERAL INFORMATION

  • The Hall can be viewed during school office hours (8:45 am to 4:00 pm).
    Viewing times must be booked by calling the school office, 9707 1600.

  • The Hall is the Old St Michael's Church.

  • Can seat 80 quite comfortably. 100 would be a squeeze.

  • Finger food, people standing around would fit 100 - 120.

  • Carpet size is 7.7m by 13m, plus the stage (altar).

  • Tables - 10 trestle tables, approx 1800mm (6ft) long, and seat 8 people.

  • 10 round tables, approx 1500mm (5ft) diameter, a seat 8 - 10 people.

  • Approx 100 plastic, stackable chairs.

  • Large kitchen area.

  • Bar area.

  • Large fridge in both kitchen and bar area (no freezers).

  • Large oven.

  • Pie warmer.

  • Small microwave.

  • Boiling water unit.

  • 2 urns.

  • Large ashtrays are provided for smokers to smoke outside, and must be left clean.

  • BYO glasses, cutlery, utensils, plates, bins, toilet paper, soap, etc.

  • Insurance for hirer and their guests is the hirer's responsibility.

  • The Schedule <requires Adobe Reader 8.0> should be completed and returned with the deposit.
